What is Paintless Dent Removal?
Paintless dent repair (PDR) also known as Paintless dent removal, is a specialized technique used to remove dents, door dings, creases, and hail damage without repainting the vehicle. Using specialized tools and lighting, dents are carefully massaged out from behind the panel while preserving the factory paint finish.
Is Paintless Dent Repair better than traditional body shop repair?
In many cases, yes. Paintless dent repair preserves the original factory paint, avoids fillers and repainting, and is usually faster and less expensive than conventional body shop repairs. PDR also helps maintain the vehicle’s original finish and resale value. There is also no vehicle history entry (CARFAX) made when you repair with Dent Repair Jax.

Can paintless dent repair remove large dents?
Yes, many large dents can be repaired with paintless dent repair as long as the paint surface is not severely cracked or damaged. Modern PDR techniques can often repair dents that most people assume require a body shop. However, there are limits to PDR. The best thing to do is just reach out to me and I will walk you through the process. If I can't fix your vehicle, I can usually refer to you to a local professional that can!

Can creases be repaired with paintless dent repair?
Many creases and creased dents can be repaired successfully using advanced PDR techniques. Sharpness, panel location, metal stretching, and paint condition all affect repairability. Even difficult creases can often be improved dramatically.
Does paintless dent repair damage the paint?
No. Proper paintless dent repair is specifically designed to preserve the factory paint finish. As long as the paint is intact and flexible, the repair process does not damage the paint. However, improper techniques and untrained technicians can damage the paint.

Will paintless dent repair show up on CARFAX?
Typically, no. Since paintless dent repair does not involve collision reporting, repainting, or insurance body shop claims in many situations, it usually does not appear on vehicle history reports like CARFAX. Dent Repair Jax never reports any repairs to CARFAX or any other vehicle history reporting service. So you can be confident that your vehicle's value will be maintained.

How long does paintless dent repair usually take?
Many minor dents and door dings can be repaired in a few hours. Larger or more complex repairs may take longer. Most paintless dent repairs are completed much faster than traditional body shop repairs. Typically, small dings take about an hour. If the damage is moderately sized, it may take around 4 hours. Larger repairs can take me all day.
Are there dents that you can't fix?
Absolutely. PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) is widely effective on many dents dings, creases, and hail damaged vehicles. However, there are dents that I can't fix. Usually the other option is traditional paint and body work. If I can't fix your dent, I can usually refer you to a local professional that can help you.
Some dents may not qualify for full paintless dent repair if:
-
the paint is cracked
-
the metal is severely stretched
-
the dent is extremely sharp
-
access behind the panel is limited
However, many dents that appear severe can still be improved substantially or even totally.

Does paintless dent repair work on aluminum panels?
Yes. Many aluminum panels can be repaired using specialized PDR techniques and tools. Aluminum is more difficult to work with than steel, but experienced technicians can often achieve excellent results. Since it is more difficult to fix, it is usually more costly as well.
How much does paintless dent repair cost?
There is a huge spectrum to the cost of PDR. Dent Repair Jax's average ticket is around $400. Costs can range from $250 to $2500. There are some special situations where more extensive damages and hail damaged vehicles can cost upwards of $10,000+.
Paintless dent repair pricing depends on factors including:
-
dent size
-
dent depth
-
panel location
-
metal type
-
accessibility
-
severity of damage
Small door dings may cost far less than traditional body shop repairs.
The best way to find out how much your dent will cost to repair is just to reach out to me. I will ask you to send me a few photos of the damage from a few angles and distances, and I can usually give you an accurate estimate based on that.

Can you repair dents at my workplace?
Usually, yes. Mobile paintless dent repair is convenient for customers who want repairs completed while they work. As long as there is space for my truck and for me to work then we can come to your workplace. Weather conditions may delay or prevent the repair if there is no shelter or garage to work in.

Is Dent Repair Jax the cheapest PDR company in the area?
No. There is a very wide spectrum of skill level, experience, and most importantly- results. I have been practicing the art of PDR for over 20 years (since 2005). I take my time and complete the repair with the respect that your vehicle deserves. In this industry, experience matters. I get calls regularly from customers that have paid a cheap company to fix their vehicle and the results are not good. You have one opportunity to complete a proper paintless repair and if the repair is botched, then the only option is usually traditional paint and body work. So you may pay twice to fix your vehicle and end up being forced into traditional paint and body , a carfax report, and the typical collision shop experience that can last weeks.

Can hail damage be repaired without repainting?
In many cases, yes. Paintless dent repair is one of the most common methods used for hail damage repair when the paint remains intact.
Is paintless dent repair safe for factory paint?
Yes. Factory paint is usually much more durable than aftermarket repainting. Paintless dent repair is specifically designed to retain the original factory finish whenever possible.

How soon can you fix my dent?
I am usually booked up for several weeks. Depending on the time of year, my lead time can be from 2 weeks to 6 weeks. Yes, I'm that busy- haha. I'm a 1-man business and I'm good at what I do. People are willing to wait for me to come fix their vehicles and I'm very grateful for that. Sometimes I do have cancellations, and reschedules -so you may get lucky and get a spot quickly. If you need your dent fixed today, or its an urgent situation, I'm probably not your guy.
